Here's to all the saints. I'm mindful of many who have died this year, especially:
- Ellis, an amazing little boy who remains in our hearts. He died 11 months ago tomorrow.
- Patricia, who died 10 months ago tomorrow in a car accident.
- Natalie, who succumbed to cancer this spring
- Katherine, daughter of a fellow pastor who was horribly murdered last week
- John, whose funeral I preached last Saturday
- Roger, a neighbor up the street who died following a car accident last week.
And I give thanks for living saints, most especially my beloved husband, who did NOT join the heavenly realms on Friday, in spite of a pretty scary car accident. My dear Geo Prism, the last vestige of my pre-married life, is totaled, but its airbags did their job and no one was hurt. There is no theological explanation for why we were so lucky, and others are not, but I thank God anyway.
